  • Raising money for local charities.

Tue 19 Sep 2023 Mrs Ewens

As you may know, some of the girls in Year Three took it upon themselves to raise money for a local charity due to their passion for animals and inparticular dogs.  The girls organised this themselves, created posters and ran the event and raised a massive £215.  We are so proud of you girls and Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary are very appreciative.

  • Wow, what an amazing thing to do Nora!

Tue 19 Sep 2023 Mrs Ewens

One of our Reception children has made a huge sacrifice and has donated 13 inches of her hair to Little Princess Trust - Little Princess Trust (littleprincesses.org.uk)

The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

We also fund childhood cancer research searching to find kinder and more effective treatments.

We are so proud of you Nora!

  • Looking after our community

Mon 11 Sep 2023 Mrs Ewens

On Friday 15th September there will be a cake sale after school (3:15 - 3:40).  This is being organised by two children in Year Three, who are passionate about supporting charities who care for animals and we couldn't be prouder of them.  These two girls have thought of this idea theirselves and are hoping that you can support them by either donating cakes for the sale or buying them on the day (or both!).  If you would like to donate cakes for the sale then please bring them into school on Friday morning. The money raised will really help support animals in need.

  • We have the most amazing PTA and parents!

Tue 05 Sep 2023 Mrs Ewens

We have the most amazing PTA and parents in the world! The PTA work tirelessly to support school and the funds they raise help us to complete many projects that we may not otherwise be able to do. This year, the PTA bought school a poly tunnel and then several of our brilliant parents volunteered to erect it. They gave up hours of their own time to complete this and we could not be more grateful. Thank you from everyone at Northern for all your amazing work.

  • We love where we live!

Thu 06 Jul 2023 Mrs Ewens

On Wednesday afternoon Year 1 went on their geography field trip. They walked up behind school, through Mrs Gregory's fields and beyond! As they walked, they looked for physical and human features and were very inquisitive and interested in their surroundings.

  • Cricket superstars!

Wed 05 Jul 2023 Mrs Ewens

Northern were selected to take part in a fantastic event in Blackpool called the Lancashire Schools Games. There were around 2000 children of different ages taking part in lots of events. We were playing cricket and headed off to Blackpool Cricket Club. Whilst there, professional cricketers put our boys through their paces. They came away with not just great skills but lots of great memories. Afterwards we headed back to the Sports ground to watch dance shows, medal presentations and finally a Party in the Park. They danced their socks off and on the journey back to The Valley struggled to keep their eyes open. They really showed the Northern Values and did the school proud.
