Newspaper.
I have been running an after-school club to produce Northern News since 2006, when my own children both attended Northern and, apart from a couple of breaks, it has been running ever since. We produce three papers a year, one at the end of each term.
Northern News enables the 10 pupils who participate to improve their literacy, improve spelling, learn interview skills, write about what interests them as well as covering school news and events.
It boosts IT skills, improves typing ability, fosters team work and working together and gives the junior journalists pride in their work when they see others reading their words.
