Curriculum

Northern's Never Ending Learning

At Northern, we believe that children should be immersed in a curriculum which has links to their own life and the area in which they live.  As such, we have designed our curriculum for children to learn through our fabulous local environment and compare and contrast this with other areas from around the world.  Children will take a look back through time in an engaging and stimulating learning environment which will enable them to create their own cultural timeline to ensure that this learning is long lasting.

We are passionate about our amazing cross curricular learning and children in our school thrive in this exciting and engaging environment. Our subject leaders have worked extremely hard to create a curriculum which ensures all of our children follow a sequence of learning which links knowledge, skills and vocabulary building on what the child already knows and therefore ensuring every child builds lifelong knowledge.

Take a look at our curriculum overviews to see what your child will be learning this year.

If you don't find the information you are looking for then please come in to meet with either your child's class teacher or the subject leader for the subject you wish to find out more information about. Just speak to Mrs Nicholas in the school office and she will make an appointment for you.

If you wish to find out more about the subjects that your child will be learning about then please make sure you attend the Parent Workshops that are held throughout the year.
