About Us:

What is the PTA?

The Parent Teacher Association is an open community of parents volunteers working alongside the school and its staff to benefit the school and ensure the best educational experience for all its pupils.

How does the PTA benefit the school?

Parents and carers have a big impact on how much their child makes progress at school. Taking an active role in your PTA is one of the ways you can make a difference and get involved:

  • We raise money to fund school initiatives through activities and events

Our events throughout the 2017/18 academic year raised a total of £2469.82 for the school. This has helped to     support school trips, performances and workshops in school, extra reading books and a new PA system.

We have also helped secure a grant from the National Lottery's Awards for £9999.00 to help transform the stage area into a multi-functional space providing a much needed quiet area to support the children's learning.

  • We provide a social support network for parents
  • We provide a forum for parents to meet to discuss and plan activities that are fun for our families but that also help to support the school

Our  Future Events:

Our PTA takes pride in ensuring the children have fun raising money for school. We try to make events affordable for parents and enjoyable for everyone.

Our Previous Events

May Fair 2022

Our first event back after the 2years forced break on events and what a great time we had.  Stalls; games; chocolate tombola; BBQ and some great entertainment from The Britannia Coconut Dancers; 2nd Rossendale Scout Group; Rossendale Drum Majorettes; Fusion Dance and Fitness and the  Adventurous Alpacas. Even the sun came out to join us and the rain stayed away. Than you to everyone who supported us and our wonderful volunteers

May Fair 2022

Autumn Festival 2019

The weather was finally kind to us and the rain stopped temporarily so we could enjoy another fantastic Northern firework display. Sadly there was no bonfire this year due to the rain making the field too wet however the pumpkins looked amazing. The hot dogs and glow sticks went down a treat and the chocolate tombola was sold out in the first hour.   Thank you to all our fabulous volunteers without whose support the night would not be possible.   We raised a total £376 after all expenses.

Autumn Festival 2019

Summer Fair 2019

What a great success this years fair was!  Raising £1,163 for the school, the weather was kind to us and we enjoyed fantastic performances from the Britannia Coconutters; the 2nd Rossendale Scout band and Fusion Dance and Fitness.  The games were enjoyed by children and adults a like  and the Lucky bags sold out again in the first 25 mins.  We had a great selection of stalls and support from our local businesses.  A huge thank you to all our volunteers who helped to support the day it couldn't be done without you all.

The PTA are happy to receive ideas for next years event on the PTA email address

Family Quiz Night  -  our first Family Quiz night was great fun, with 11 teams taking part.  Team Unicorn and Team Wing It and Scarper came top and entered a tense tie breaker question - how many miles long to the nearest mile is the River Nile?   Team Unicorn came out victorious with Amelia's Granddad guessing the closest.   In joint third and fourth place were Team Quizzing Bear and Team Clever Cloggs.   We hope to run similar events again in the future.

Meeting Dates:

Next meeting date is Tuesday 30th April at 6:30pm upstairs at Anna's. This meeting will be to discuss planning for the May Fair.
