  • Northern's Jubilee Celebrations!

    Today we have been celebrating our Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We have done lots of amazing activities in class, held our own Coronation with our very own Queen "Olivia" from Year 2 performed by our very own Mr Davies! We then had a lovely Jubilee Picnic and the children enjoyed an extended lunch break! We topped off this amazing day by studying an artist from each decade of the Queen's reign.   • Able Writers Day!

    Today some of our Year 3 and Year 4 children took part in an Able Writers Workshop at Peel Park Primary School. This was led by David Webb who is a children’s author whose books include Eye of the Storm and Friday 13th! The children had a fantastic day and wrote on great stuff. Well done Toby, Jake, Ruby and Violet!

  • Cross Country Madness!

    Today after school, children from our Key Stage 2 classes attended Marl Pits to take part in the cross country competition. It was wet and muddy but our children ran their socks off to finish that race and showed our Northern value of resilience and made every one of their teachers smile with pride! Many thanks to the parents who transported - these events could not happen without your kindness!

  • Jubilee Disco!

    After school, our hall was transformed into a dance floor complete with excellent music, super lighting and children having mega fun! It was amazing to see our children laughing and dancing as well as getting their teachers involved! Massive thanks again to the PTA and the volunteers for organising and helping to make this a success. Excellent feedback from all parents about how much fun their child had makes it all worthwhile!

  • Year 5 and Year 6 Football Competition.

    Today after school our Year 5 and Year 6 football team attended The Valley Leadership Academy to compete for a place in the next round of the cup. We are delighted to tell you that the boys played outstanding and won 4-2 with goals coming from Mason, Lewis and 2 coming from Brandon. The opposition commented on how well our team played too which is fantastic to hear! Special thanks to Mr Ford who took the team for an extra training practice and also refereed the second half! Well played boys and here's to victory in the next round!

  • Summer Fair Success!

    Today was Northern's Summer Fair 2022! And what an amazing day it turned out to be. It was fantastic to see all the children and parents having so much fun together playing games, entering competitions and being entertained! It was so nice to see the Northern community mixing again. A massive thank you to Karen and Sue for all your exceptional organisation skills, great thanks to the volunteers and staff too without whom it could not have been the amazing success it was. Special thanks must also go to the band, dancers, coconutters and the majorettes for entertaining everybody.   • Year 6's Buddhist Visitor.

    Today our Year 6 children had a visit from Dharmachari Sanghaketu which linked to their RE topic this term of Buddhism. The children took part in a meditation session, a question and answer session and he spoke to the children all about the story of Siddhartha and how the religion was born. The children thoroughly enjoyed this session and he was amazed with the children's prior knowledge. Well done Year 6!

  • Police Visit to Year 5 and Year 6.

    Today our children in Year 5 and Year 6 have had a visit from PC424 Vinnie Hopkins and PCSO729 Lyndsay Hayhurst who spoke with the children about knife crime, stranger danger and being asked to do something that they feel uncomfortable or unsure of. They spoke with the children about how to contact the police or ensure they speak with a trusted adult. They answered all of the children's questions and the children were very attentive! Well done Year 5 and Year 6.
