Cultural Capital

Cultural Capital at Northern Primary School

At Northern Primary School, all stakeholders are passionate and committed to providing the children in our care with outstanding learning opportunities.

Our aim is that all children become the best that they can be, by providing an environment which encourages children to achieve and to be ambitious.

Cultural capital is important to us as it prepares children with the essential knowledge and skills that come next.  By providing the children with new skills, we nurture resilience, curiosity and creativity.  Through this journey the children develop new forms of cultural capital that makes a difference in individual mind-sets, which consequently shapes their future.

We are very proud to be a Unicef Rights Respecting School and these beliefs underpin the ethos and curriculum of the school.  Children at Northern are exposed to enrichment opportunities which allow them to experience the awe and wonder of the world in which they live.

Children at Northern Primary School will experience a rich and broad curriculum; we will provide a toolkit for children with all the equipment they need to find secret doors in familiar worlds and open doors of opportunity into worlds they didn’t even know existed.
