Today Year 3 became mini ARP Wardens as we looked World War 2 replicas from the time of the Blitz, looking at how life changed for ordinary people and what they had to do in Bacup. We found out that Bacup changed a lot - from air raid shelters in the basements of St. John's Church, air raid warnings, sand buckets for every house, trenches being built in Thorn and even two bombs being dropped on the town (luckily, nobody was seriously hurt)!
