Jubilee activities

Parents came into school on Thursday morning to join in with a jubilee workshop with Lancashire Adult learning. We made crowns, a soldier and a photograph frame. We had lots of fun 🤩

On Friday we spent the whole day completing various Jubilee activities…..

We linked this to our maths work and created pictograms with jubilee items.

We had an assembly in the morning with Olivia Arnold as our very own queen. We learnt all about what and why we were celebrating, who was involved and what the different parts of the cornonation were and what they symbolise.

At lunchtime we had a tea party 🎉 with jubilee picnic boxes. Due to the weather we had to have this in our classrooms and not outside as planned, but we still had a great time. We had the opportunity in the afternoon to watch a cheerleading display from various children from years one and two. We were all impressed at their performance after only a couple of weeks of training before school. Well done Miss Nuttall and the girls.
As a whole school everyone had to study an artist from a decade across the 70 years reign. We looked at A Japanese artist 👩‍🎨 Yayoi Kusama who uses a lot of polka dots in her work. The children produced some amazing artwork. I will be displaying a selection of all classes work in the hall once they are all completed.
