Summer 2 Week 3 Friday

Mrs Egan says well done to Elsie who has completed ALL of the Year 1 Mathletics tasks now getting 90% or more!  Well done you!

Have a lovely weekend everyone...we have reached the weekend! It has been another very wet day in school today. We managed to do all our work, a dance class and also dodge the rain to get a bit of fresh air outside. Thank you for your work you have sent this week- have a look at the website gallery. Mrs Egan is going to be running the website next week so I will be messaging you again in just over a weeks time. Bye for now...Happy Father's Day to all the dads!

Mrs Dixon

Happy Friday everyone! The last day of the week....

I have chosen Ebony this week as shooting star. I have had the pleasure of seeing her on our zoom chat on Wednesday, which she joined in with really well, chatting to us about what she has been doing. I have also seen her working very hard, independently, to write a diary entry for baby bear for Literacy yesterday whilst in school (see the gallery). She didn’t stop there and made a lovely card ready for Father’s Day on Sunday. Well done Ebony, you have settled in to school with children from different classes so well.

Speaking of Sunday Mrs Hill has informed me of 'Make Music Day'. Have a look at https://makemusicday.co.uk/bash-the-trash/. We would like you to make a musical instrument out of any junk you can find. On the website there are instructions to follow or you can let your imagination run riot! I will be having a go with my boys and will let you see the results! When you have made an instrument send us a short video so we can listen to the sound as well.

I have also been informed about a reading challenge from Bacup library. I have put the information on our main page. Please try and join in over the summer!

Have a look at the icon about news regarding year two as there are a couple of videos there to watch ready for next year.

Have a lovely day,

Mrs Dixon

Hi Year 1 – Friday again! What plans have you got for the weekend? Depending on the weather I think we might go out on our bikes.

Over the last couple of days we have been thinking about ice-cream, yum, yum, yum!!

Today we have a little maths challenge can you solve the ice cream cone problem? How many different combinations of flavours are there? We have done some similar tasks before with Mrs Egan in investigative maths – I think we had beach balls and teddy bears!

I have attached a little worksheet – see if you can do it! (Parents the answer sheet is also attached – so only the first 2 sheets are for the children laugh).

Keep up the fantastic work, Mrs Ball smiley
