International Language Day
In Year 1, we learned about Germany. We located Germany on our European map and linked this with our continents work in Geography. We learned the colours of the German flag.
Then we learned how to say 'Good Morning' - 'Guten Morgan' and 'Good Day' - 'Guten Tag'.
We learned how to count to 5 in German - Eins, zwei, drei, vier, funf.
We made Tyrolean hats by folding and decorating paper.
Finally, we had the story of 'Rumpelstiltskin' by the Grimm Brothers, who wrote lots of famous fairy stories in Germany.
We created the German flag on our paint program.
We learned the correct colours for the German flag.
We made our own Tyrolean hats
