This half-term in history we're going to be looking at the local area, the place around where we live. One important skill is seeing how places have changed over time.

 

Underneath, I've put two maps of Bacup. One is from today, the other is from the 1890s - about 130 years ago! 

 

Which one do you think is Bacup in the past and which one is Bacup today? How do you know?

Can you spot 3 things that have stayed the same and 3 things that have changed?
