  • Mother's Day Assembly.

    Today our Key Stage 1 children performed an assembly to celebrate Mother's Day and make their mums feel really special. The children performed a number of songs and then read out some poetry all about Mother's Day. The children then presented their mums with a hand-tied bunch of daffodils and it was so heart-warming to see them being presented with them. We wish all Northern mums a very Happy Mother's Day.
  • Life Education Visit

    This week our children have been meeting our annual visitor and friend - Harold the Giraffe! The Life Education initiative come in and work with every class on a range of topics such as staying healthy, being good friends and making the right decisions. The children love these workshops and all received a sticker from Harold for all of their fantastic answers! Steven - who delivered the workshops - told us as he left that the children at Northern are some of the best he works with! Well done Northern.
  • Football Match

    Tonight our children took part in a football match against Britannia Primary School. Both teachers said it was a fantastic match and despite losing 2-1, the boys played magnificently and represented Northern amazingly. Many thanks to the parents who provided transport as without your generosity, these matches could not go ahead. Well done footballers.
  • Red Nose Day

    Today our children have been dancing, wearing non-uniform and buying buns in order to raise money for a worthwhile cause. Through our Rights Respecting School work, the children have been talking about the importance of fundraising to help other children less fortunate than themselves to ensure that they are able to enjoy the rights that they are entitled to. As a result of the hard work of both parents and children, we have raised over £270! Massive thanks to everyone who contributed to this fantastic day!
  • World Book Day

    Today our school has been celebrating World Book Day which is held annually to celebrate the world's fantastic authors a well as promote a love of reading. We have had a wide variety of characters from both children and staff from Cat in the Hat to Gangsta Granny to Willy Wonka and many more - the list is endless. We started the day with an assembly in order for the children to have a look at each other's outfits and then each class went off to celebrate the works of different authors. Reception have looked at Julia Donaldson, Year 1 - Oliver Jeffers, Year 2 - Martin Waddell, Year 3 - Frank Baum, Year 5 - Rudyard Kipling and Years 4 and  6 have studied David Walliams. Staff would also like to say a massive thank you to all the parents for their fantastic support.
  • Shrove Tuesday

    Today our children have been learning about Shrove Tuesday and why it is celebrated. They have learnt about who it is important to and why it is now known as Pancake Day. Some children were even lucky enough to enjoy pancakes in their class.
