Roald Dahl Week

This week the children were introduced to our Topic question - Where Do I live? The children seemed super excited and keen to find out more about where they live! We started Topic with some local History, Year 2 started to explore what a Cotton Mill is and why the mills are important to our local heritage. Later on in the week, during Geography, the children created their own maps of the surrounding areas of Bacup and Weir.

On Friday, we celebrated Roald Dahl Day. We learned all about Fantastic Mr Fox and we followed a step-by-step demonstration on how to draw like Quentin Blake - the paintings were amazing. Finally, we created our dream jar taking inspiration from the BFG, and added our hopes and dreams into the jar to keep in class.

Well Done Dylan our receiving the first Shooting Star of the year!
