  • Snuggle Up with a Book Day

    Today our children looked very different! Around the school, all we could see were pyjamas and dressing gowns! We did this to celebrate 2 amazing stories that have stood the test of time and which are celebrating anniversaries. All classes have been taking part in activities that revolve around these stories and it was great to see a hall full of smiley faces!
  • Viking Visitor

    Today our Year 4 and 6 children have taken part in a Viking Workshop. Our visitor brought a range of artefacts and the children learnt all about the Vikings and what life was like back in Viking times. The children have had a great time and it was lovely to see all their happy smiley faces.
  • Rossendale High Five Netball Final

    Today our Year 6 netball team represented Northern at the Rossendale High Five Netball Competition. They had qualified to be amongst the top 6 schools in Rossendale and the girls played extremely well and showed outstanding sportsmanship which Nathan Bibby - Rossendale Sports Partnership manager - commented on during the presentation. Well done girls!
  • Year 3 Trip

    Today our Year 3 children were lucky enough to go on a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. The children took part in 3 workshops. The first was a Wonder of Light workshop where the children saw a variety of experiments involving light. The second was called Experimental Flow and involved an interactive workshop about all the areas of Science and finally they watched the Forces and Flight show where the children learnt all about magnets and air resistance. They had a fantastic day and were amazed by all they learnt and saw.
  • May Fair Success!

    Today in school, we held our annual May Fair. This is an event ran by the PTA which allows families to come along and win prizes, play games, browse the stalls, have a cup of coffee, have something to eat and generally have a great time meeting everyone in a relaxed environment. The fair was opened by the Britannia Coconutters and we were entertained by the Rossendale Scout Band and Fusion Dance group. The event was a huge success and raised over £1000! A massive thank you to all volunteers, staff and attendees. Without you, it would not be possible to raise such a great amount of money for the children!
  • Cricket Competition

    Mon 13 May 2019
    This afternoon our LKS2 cricket team attended an inter-schools cricket competition at Bacup Cricket Club. The children played well and showed great sportsmanship. They finished 4th overall and had a great time! Well done team!
  • Year 3 and 4 Football Match

    Mon 13 May 2019
    Today our Year 3 and 4 football team travelled to Crawshawbooth Primary School to take part in a football match. The children played to a very high standard and as a result of their teamwork and skill, managed to win the match! Well done boys!
  • Year 1 Library Visit

    Today our Year 1 children went on a trip to Bacup Library to take part in a workshop of Arts and Crafts and took part in a story telling session. They were then able to join the library and borrow a book that very same day! Libraries are amazing places with hundreds of free books to borrow and read! You are very lucky Year 1 and keep enjoying your new books!
  • High Five Netball Competition

    Today our Year 6 Netball team represented Northern at the Rossendale Sports Partnership qualifiers. They played outstandingly and won every one of their matches achieving maximum points and qualifying with ease for the next stage. They worked well as a team and showed super sportsmanship. Well done!
  • PE Inclusion Event

    Thu 02 May 2019
    Today, some of our Year 4 and 5 children attended a PE Inclusion Event organised by Rossendale Sports Partnership. This is where children can take part in events that focus more on the team building skills and the journey rather than the outcome. This week it was an orienteering event and the children had a great time. They also received medals and certificates in our Shooting Star Assembly. Well done boys!
