Geography Field Trip

This week we were very lucky with the weather and managed to have a lovely walk around the local area as part of our geography field trip.  We walked up through the farm and fields behind school to look for and identify physical and human features of the land as part of our geography topic.  We spotted a wide range of different landmarks and learned lots of new names and features that we hadn’t come across before including wind turbines, styles, dry stone walls, cattle grids and electricity pylons.  We looked down and found school once we had reached the top and also saw houses, barns, the farm, a factory and woodland areas.  The children  were great at spotting different things and even remembered the names of some flowers such as foxgloves from our plants topic earlier in the year.  The children were fantastic and walked their socks off!
