Felt Making!

Here in Year 6, we have been doing some very challenging art work linked to our seaside topic. First we have used blending pencils to create a true imagery of the sea. We blended greens, blues and purples to build up a picture of the ocean. Then we used Merino wool which is a special type of wool which can be pulled and teased apart to create fine fibres. After they have been teased, the children have to use their plans to build up different colours to create the ocean scene they designed previously. The next art lesson will be using soapflakes to wet and seal the wool to create a felt piece of work. The final part will be putting them all together to create one colossal ocean! Watch this space!
