DT - Sewing
Over this half term, we have compared, evaluated and designed our own bunting. We decided to make bunting to celebrate the King's Coronation so stuck to a red, white and blue theme (with a bit of gold and silver here and there). We designed our bunting on paper and also using ICT. We practised skills such as cutting round a template, running stitch and attaching buttons before putting all these to use to make our final bunting flag.
On the last day of the half term, Mrs Regan's mum came in with her very fancy sewing machine and talked to us about how her machine can do lots of exciting things much faster than we could do it by hand. We watched as she attached all our flags onto ribbon to make our bunting. Some of us helped her to press the correct buttons to thread the needle and cut the thread.
