Reflection Experiments
Today's science was all about predictions and finding out about reflections. We used a lux measurer on our iPad to measure the light reflected from lots of different materials and made predictions about the results. Our projector measured 1500 lux, our whiteboard 320 lux, and total darkness 0. We found out that the lighter the colour, the more lux we could detect, and shiny materials were very good at reflecting light. We hypothesised that the darker materials, especially black, were 'soaking up' or absorbing the light to stop it reaching our eyes...
