What is the PTA?
The Parent Teacher Association is an open community of parents volunteers working alongside the school and its staff to benefit the school and ensure the best educational experience for all its pupils.
How does the PTA benefit the school?
Parents and carers have a big impact on how much their child makes progress at school. Taking an active role in your PTA is one of the ways you can make a difference and get involved:
Our events throughout the 2017/18 academic year raised a total of £2469.82 for the school. This has helped to support school trips, performances and workshops in school, extra reading books and a new PA system.
We have also helped secure a grant from the National Lottery's Awards for £9999.00 to help transform the stage area into a multi-functional space providing a much needed quiet area to support the children's learning.
Our Future Events:
Our PTA takes pride in ensuring the children have fun raising money for school. We try to make events affordable for parents and enjoyable for everyone.
Our next school disco is on Thursday 27th June. 5:30pm - 6:30pm for Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3. 6:35pm - 7:35pm for Years 4, 5 and 6.
Summer Fair 2019
What a great success this years fair was! Raising £1,163 for the school, the weather was kind to us and we enjoyed fantastic performances from the Britannia Coconutters; the 2nd Rossendale Scout band and Fusion Dance and Fitness. The games were enjoyed by children and adults a like and the Lucky bags sold out again in the first 25 mins. We had a great selection of stalls and support from our local businesses. A huge thank you to all our volunteers who helped to support the day it couldn't be done without you all.
The PTA are happy to receive ideas for next years event on the PTA email address email@example.com
Family Quiz Night - our first Family Quiz night was great fun, with 11 teams taking part. Team Unicorn and Team Wing It and Scarper came top and entered a tense tie breaker question - how many miles long to the nearest mile is the River Nile? Team Unicorn came out victorious with Amelia's Granddad guessing the closest. In joint third and fourth place were Team Quizzing Bear and Team Clever Cloggs. We hope to run similar events again in the future.
Next meeting date is Tuesday 30th April at 6:30pm upstairs at Anna's. This meeting will be to discuss planning for the May Fair.
