  • Year 6 Leavers' Assembly

    Today was a emotional day here at Northern as we said Goodbye and Good Luck to our Year 6 children. They performed a fantastic assembly to the rest of the school and their parents. After the children left the hall, the Year 6 children were presented with their leaving present from all of the staff here at Northern. Good Luck in the next chapter of your lives and remember - shoot for the stars!

    Today our very generous children at Northern donated their old shoes to help children in poorer countries who cannot afford their own new shoes. This is part of our continuing link to UNICEF and we have to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated their shoes. The winning class was Year 5 who as a class managed to donate 147 pairs of shoes!! Wow Year 5 - well done.
  • Phase 2 Celebration Assembly and Teddy Bears Picnic

    This afternoon here at Northern, parents and grandparents of our Year 4, 5 and 6 children attended the Celebration Assembly. They came to watch their child receive a special certificate that celebrated how special and unique our children here at Northern are. After the presentation, we all went out into the yard for our Teddy Bears Picnic where we spent time with the children and their families. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend the event.

    This morning at Northern we held a very special assembly for our Phase 1 children to celebrate how special and unique every one of our children here at Northern is. Parents and grandparents came into school to watch their child receive a certificate and then they got to into the yard to have a huge teddy bears picnic together as a family. We were blessed with the weather and a wonderful time was had by all. Thank you to everyone that was able to attend to make this day as special as the children.
  • Reception Celebration Assembly

    Today at Northern, we had our very own graduation ceremony for our Reception children. The Reception children re-told the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar to symbolise our Reception children blossoming into lovely butterflies. They all received their learning journeys in front of their parents and grandparents too. Many thanks to everybody who attended.
  • Northern's Got Talent

    Today was our infamous Northern's Got Talent competition here in school. The staff and children were entertained by dancers, singers, magicians and comedians. There were 13 acts in total and 4 fantastic judges whose job it was to give feedback also had the tricky task of choosing the winners. Our judges were Mrs Bridges (Reception teacher from Sept 2018), Fin from Sportscool, Mary our welfare assistant and a one-off guest appearance by Ronnie! The children had a fantastic time and our Key Stage 1 winner was Jake from Reception and our Key Stage 2 winners were Girl Squad.

  • School Games Day

    Today was our Games Day here at Northern. The children were split into their phases and Years 1, 2 and 3 events were in the morning and Years 4, 5 and 6 events were in the afternoon. They children took part in long jump, javelin, speed bounce, bean bag game and then running, skipping and sack races. Phase 1 also completed an egg and spoon race. Despite the weather this morning, all the children got to complete the activities and everyone has had a fantastic day. Special thanks must go to our Sports Crew children who helped organise and run the activities. Well done Sports Crew!
  • Year 4 Music Concert

    Today our Year 4 class entertained their parents and the rest of Key Stage 2 with their music concert. The children have been working hard all year and played their instruments beautifully. They also sang songs from Mamma Mia and Bob Marley. They were a credit to the school and to their music teacher - Mrs Faulkner. Well done Year 4!
