  • Life Education Visit

    Steven from the Life Education Centre has been in Northern yesterday and today developing the children's knowledge about their bodies. They have been learning about their brain, how to make decisions, growing up and feelings. Steven commented on how attentive the children were and how he enjoys coming into Northern each year. A massive well done to all the children on such lovely comments from a visitor!

  • Reception's Muddy Puddle Walk

    Today our Reception class braved the elements! They wrapped up well and pulled on their wellies to raise money for Save the Children. They took part in Peppa Pig's Muddy Puddle Walk and managed to raise a massive £200 which was the target they set so well done to all of our Reception children and a massive thank you to the parents for your generosity!
  • Year 3 and 4 Football Competition

    After school today, members of our Year 3 and 4 classes travelled to Fearns to take part in a mixed football competition. They played fantastically, showed excellent team spirit and sportsmanship as well as having super behaviour. They played several games and came 3rd overall so well done Northern!
  • Phonics Workshop

    Today in school, we delivered a Phonics Workshop to parents of our current Reception class. The aim of this workshop was to educate parents in how best to support their child's development of reading and writing. The parents found the information helpful and felt more able to strengthen their child's understanding and knowledge of Phonics. Many thanks to all of the parents who attended.

  • Lego Robotics

    This afternoon, Northern's hall was transformed into an interactive world of Lego! Parents and grandparents were able to come in and work with their child or grandchild and build robots made of Lego and then use ICT to enable them to move around the hall. Sometimes the children were the leaders and sometimes the adults were but overall it was fantastic to see families working together to produce something really exciting. Well done to all who attended and many thanks to the adults for supporting this event.
  • Lego Workshop

    Northern children and their parents took part in a Lego workshop today which was organised by the Family Learning Centre. The children learned all about how to program their Lego robots and used iPads to move them around the hall. Sometimes the children were the teachers and sometimes the parents became the teachers but one thing is certain - everyone had a fantastic time!
  • Girls' Football Competition

    Today we showed girl power when our girls football team travelled to Fearns to take part in a football competition. they played with sheer determination, showed amazing team spirit and resilience as well as great sportsmanship for their opponents. For all their hard work, they earned themselves 2nd place and we could not be any prouder of how they played. Well done!
