Fire Safety and Road Sense workshops

On the 28th November, Year 2 and Year 6 were visited by the fire service and took place in two very different workshops!

Year 2 children enjoyed an interactive session, in which the fire service discussed fire safety, checking fire alarms at home, what to do in the event of a fire and what to say on the phone. The children had lots of fun too, trying on the protective clothing.

Year 6 children enjoyed a very informative 'Road Sense' session. The children were given guidance to help with the transition from primary to high school including:

  • The importance of wearing seatbelts and using appropriate car seats
  • Safe cycling including wearing cycle helmets
  • Pedestrian safety
  • Be safe be seen
  • Not causing a distraction when travelling in a car

All the children took an active part in the session and listened well to the very important advice they were given.

A big thank you to Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for taking the time to visit our school.
