Good Morning Year 3!
Today’s a bit different for me, I’m in school! I’m not near a laptop so I may take a little bit more time emailing you back. My laptop at home decided to stop connecting to the internet yesterday so that was lots of fun!
Well done to all of you who guessed correctly – yesterday’s Guess Who was indeed Yasmin!
You have all been working so hard again! Let’s have a look at what everyone has been up to…
Mason worked super hard finding 3D objects around the house! Marvellous work Mason. Well done!
Rudy sent an email describing all the amazing things he's been up to over the Easter holidays.
'I decorated a sword and shield and used them in a game with my brother.
I wanted to learn about Andy Warhol so we had an Andy Warhol day. We watched a tour of the Andy Warhol Museum, and listened to the David Bowie song about Andy Warhol and learnt about his most famous works. Then we did our own paintings in the style of Andy Warhol. I am sending you some pictures of mine.
We did some baking and have been on lots of long walks.
I've also been learning French on Duolingo- bonjour! Comment ca va?'
Brilliant work Rudy! Love the Andy Warhol Day idea!
Rosie emailed to let me know what she’s been up to over the Easter holidays.
‘We planted beans and mine are very tall. We have made posters and did some painting. We grew cress and then ate it. I have been on Mathletics, Reading Eggs and Purple Mash. We had a photoshoot and dressed daddy up.
We have had 2 BBQs. We played in the sand and pretended we went to the beach. We have been on walks. We have tadpoles. I've been looking after all our animals. I held Chief the Chinchilla and got kisses from him. We made cornflake cakes and Tomorrow we are making pasties. We made chocolate pie and then put sweets on top.’
Beautiful summary of all the amazing things she’s been up to. Well done Rosie!
We owe a big congratulations to Miley S who is now a big sister! She’s been helping her mummy look after the gorgeous Bella Rose, we all knew she’d be a fabulous big sis! She’s been working so hard that her mummy has rewarded her with some time out in the hot tub! Haha, well deserved Miley!
This afternoon he planted some sunflower seeds and dropped them off on the door step of some of his friends. I bet it was nice to see some friendly faces from a distance! Lovely work Jack.
Miss Collins has a great one for today!
This wonderful little girl has impeccable manners. She tries her best in absolutely everything that she does! She is super kind and helpful to every single person in the class. She can be quiet but… if you let her dance, you’ll be amazed by her moves and confident loud singing! When we go swimming, she always let’s me wear her glasses. Can you guess who?
Let’s get learning!
I absolutely loved reading your Fact File’s for Mr Twit. I’m so happy that the resource worked on Purple Mash! Today, you’re going to create a Fact File on Mrs Twit. Remember, use the text to help you. If you have the luxury of a printer, it would be really useful to print it off and highlight all the text that describes Mrs Twit to help you. Mason made me laugh yesterday, he put food from the clip art section in Mr Twit’s beard! Haha!
Can’t wait to hand out some more achievements!
Just sign on Purple Mash and it should be set up as a 2Do! There’s a challenge on it today, guaranteed Purple Mash reward for anyone who does it!
Log on to Reading Eggspress and complete another level. You’re all doing so well! Your efforts are greatly appreciated Year 3! I’ve already got one certificate to hand out on Friday. Let’s get more!
We’ll continue with our 3D shapes. Hope you still remember that key vocabulary!
Because today I’ve set you two tasks on Purple Mash – I repeat PURPLE MASH for 3D shape. You might want to watch the video below again before attempting the tasks. Please complete the ‘Label Shapes’ activity before the ‘Pairs Game’. Have fun!
Carrying on our Roman Britain topic, you’re going to draw a Roman Soldier! Follow the YouTube link below and this father and son show you the small steps you need to take to draw and colour your own Roman Soldier. Don’t worry, the video is 35 minutes long but the drawing is only the first 20 minutes. Then they start showing you their fans drawings that have been sent to them in the post. If you finish a little early, watch the clip on Boudicca again! Remember, she’s super important and we have to know everything she did that impacted on Roman Britain.
Label your Roman Soldier’s armour – this is a research project. I’m not giving you any clues!
Just remember, stay safe on the internet and follow our Acceptable Use Policy.
Please send in pictures of your drawings! I’d love to see them!
Have a great day Year 3.
Make the most of the sunshine – it’s not here for much longer.
Miss you all. A lot.
