For the rest of the session, you are going to be using your reasoning skills to complete the Mystery Money Investigation (document below). If you have the real coins, you may use them or cut out the ones on the template.

In his novel, Pinocchio, the author Carlo Collodi describes the wooden puppet Pinocchio using the following vocabulary: insolent, derisive, rascal, imp, wretched. Look up these words. Investigate and collect a range of synonyms (words meaning the same or nearly the same) and antonyms (words meaning the opposite) linked to these words. What impression do these words give you of Pinocchio? Read chapters 1-3 of Pinocchio (link below) What ‘impish’ behaviour does Pinocchio display? Record in writing.
12pm- 1pm LUNCH
1pm - 2pm: PSHE Theme: Conflict and Resolution! (See document below) Look up and write down the definitions for the words Conflict and Resolution. Then think of 5 of your own conflicts and how they were resolved.

2:30pm - 3:00pm: Use this short session to work on one Spice Grid activity and bear in mind that it may take more than one session to complete it.
