Guided Reading

Time to think about the setting and atmosphere of the books we're reading, Year 4 - let's start with setting. Setting just means the places that are in your book - how many places are there in your book and which adjectives would you use to describe them? Atmosphere is a bit trickier. It can include sense descriptions and emotions - for example, it was a chilly atmosphere because the character could see their breath in the air. You can also use emotions to describe an atmosphere - for example if a character smiles at a party, that party would have a joyful atmosphere. If a character shivers with fear in a deep dark woods, the woods have a very scary atmosphere...

Good luck! It's on your PurpleMash 2dos - Day 7 - Setting. PurpleMash also has a few hints at the side if you're stuck with what to do.
