Today the class have had an amazing trip to Burnley Courts. They first had to go through the scanning device to make sure they weren't taking anything in to the courts that they shouldn't be. After that, we went up to Court 1 where we all had to rise when Judge Dodd entered the court in her gown and wig. She then did a question and answer session where the children asked some amazing questions! They then went on to take part in a mock court session based on the real-life case of the suffragette Mary Richardson! The children learnt a lot of fascinating things and Kath (our facilitator) said the children were absolutely brilliant with both their behaviour and their engagement with the case. Oliver was Your honour for a short time and Amelia was found guilty of malicious damage. Thankfully we are all back to normal after a super session in court!
