Year 5 were visited by two Ancient Greeks. One was a rich Athenian and the other a Spartan warrior. The two visitors told us of what life was like in Ancient Greece. There were many artefacts which we got to look at and handle from the world of war, theatre, medicine, education and shopping. We learned many stories from Ancient Greece and found out about the different myths, gods and monsters. In learning about theatre we performed a play, learned a dance and sand some Greek songs. At the end of the day we had to decide whether we would rather live in Athens or Sparta by taking part in a democratic vote - something else we found out that originated in Greece. More of Year 5 would have preferred to be Spartan - but there was only a few votes difference!
